Patrick Towey- currently serves as Band Director at Plattsburgh Senior High School. In this capacity, he directs the high school concert band and jazz ensemble, oversees the jazz combo program, teaches all high school woodwind, brass and percussion lessons and teaches an introductory piano laboratory course. He is also the Music Director for the annual spring musical productions. Additionally, he is the director of the Stafford Middle School Jazz Ensemble. Under his leadership, the PHS Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble have received ‘Gold’ and ‘Gold with Distinction’ ratings at the New York State Music Association Major Organization Evaluation Festivals.

            An active member of regional and statewide organizations, he is the Vice President of the Clinton County Music Educators Association. He is the chairman of the All-County Honors Recital and has chaired the All-County Concert Band. With NYSSMA, he serves on the Instrumental Selection Committee for the Zone 6 (Northern New York) Area All-State Instrumental Ensembles, has chaired the Area All-State Jazz Ensemble and serves as a Piano Adjudicator at NYSSMA Solo Festivals. He served as the Interim Conductor of the Adirondack Youth Orchestra from 2016-2017.

            Towey maintains as active schedule outside of Northern New York music activities. He also currently serves as the Summer Music Director for ArtPark and Company in Lewiston, NY, most recently music directing for the WNY premiere of the Public Works project production of Homer's The Odyssey. He served as the Music Director and Pit Orchestra Conductor for the Ken-Ton Summer Theatre Arts Group Experience in Tonawanda, NY from 2008-2017. He was also the founder and music director of the Western New York Future Educators Wind Ensemble.

            Towey received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester) in Rochester, NY. While at Eastman, he performed with the Eastman Wind Ensemble, Eastman School Symphony Orchestra, Eastman Wind Orchestra, Eastman Trombone Choir, Eastman Opera Theatre and University of Rochester Jazz Ensemble. Still an active performer, he has performed with the Adirondack Wind Ensemble and the Adirondack Jazz Orchestra, in addition to accompanying many student soloists for NYSSMA solo festivals and playing piano at Plattsburgh Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Plattsburgh United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church of Plattsburgh. He also maintains a private studio of piano and brass students in the Plattsburgh area.
